    This production is near perfect. Aside from the obvious sound issues, I believe this was a taped rehearsal and I am sure in performance, this was rectified.

    Reminder that there were 4 jews on Frank's jury, & they all decided he was guilty. He wasn't a victim of antisemitism, he was a monster who got what he deserved.

    Reminder that there were 4 jews on the jury that convicted Frank. He wasn't a victim of antisemetism, he was a monster who killed a child & tried to blame his crimes on a black man, but had so little evidence that other jury members who were racist towards blacks (some were literally klansmen) believed Conley's innocence.

    The switch in The Factory Girls / Come Up To My Office was so good, you immediately noticed he placed an entirely different character. It really feels like he’d never do something like that because you don’t recognise it at Leo Frank. (just talking about how it doesn't feel the same as how the character is portrayed in the rest of the show, y'know, the acting part) This is now one of my favorite musicals. The casting is perfect. Thank you for uploading this.

      "You don't understand, he's INNOCENT you guys! Just look at the man playing him in a musical about how he's innocent! He would never r--- and k--- this child, it was obviously the illiterate black janitor!"

      @@crackhead_clyde I don't know anything about the guy or the janitor or anyone else for that matter I just enjoy the show. I really liked the change of character in that scene that's all. No clue wether he was innocent or not though.

      @@lekselcatz4581 You really need to look into the actual story then. Frank's whole defense was that Conley had to have done it because he was... well, black. Except he used a word that started with "N." There was so much evidence against him, however, that people on the jury that would've normally fell for it, like the klansmen, didn't believe him. Think about that, in 1910s Georgia, a jury that included actual klansmen (as well as 4 jews, inb4 "muh antisemitism,") unanimously decided to convict a rich white factory owner over the poor black janitor for the murder of a child. I understand if you were unaware of the full context of the events of the case, and you just like the cast & singing along to the catchy songs or whatever, but you must understand that the whole point of this musical (and the people who wrote it, the ADL) is to paint this convicted nonce/murderer in a positive light, using the fact that the average people in that area, including Phagen's relatives, didn't take too kindly to the governor being bribed to commute Frank's sentence as an excuse to demonize people taking justice into their own hands, painting anyone who speaks out against the ADL or what they represent as hateful, anti-semetic bigots. Ask yourself why this organization is founded on defaming a black man to cover for a wealthy jewish businessman. Evil Dead has a musical. You should go watch that instead. A play about demons possessing people & turning them into zombies is less disturbing than knowing the full context of this musical. Also Christ is Lord.

      @@crackhead_clyde I was reading an article about it a few days ago but gave up halfway through because I didn't understand what they were saying exactly (maybe because I'm not native in English) but your explanation seemed much easier to follow to me. Thank you :) I'll make sure to understand the story behind a show next time before I comment on it like that. I understand that some are made particularly to bring attention to those events/problems that they are about.

    • @crackhead_clyde
      @crackhead_clyde 10 місяців тому

      @@lekselcatz4581 You're welcome. Thanks for hearing me out, I'm glad to have been able to set the record straight. Even here in America not many people know the full context of the story beyond mainstream sources, which all cite the same narrative that "modern historians," have decided that Conley was the actual perpetrator, with no evidence besides variations of, "B-because he just IS, ok?" Don't feel too bad about being too confused to understand what that article was trying to say, because (especially if it was a promo for the show) it was purposely written to obscure or hide less desirable details, or just to confuse the reader in general, that's press nowadays. I digress, make sure to do more research into the ADL & tell all your theater friends back home why they should avoid this musical.

      @@maggiesalley2147 How do you feel about the actual story of the play? Are you aware of the facts behind the case and how racist Frank & his defense were toward Conelly? Don't you think its weird that a jury containing literal klansmen, as well as other jews, sided with the poor black janitor over the rich white jewish factory owner? Not trying to be rude because everyone genuinely needs to read up on the source material for this play.
